Cont. Super Saturday

This bush is ready to bloom.
Dogwood bloomed recently, everything else is pretty maintenance free (in this bed).

Pond is not looking clear and we need to work on it, so I won't put a photo here!

This bed is primarily lilies, but I put some annuals up front for color.

We missed Atlanta Bread Co. today so that CB could get started mulching. My brother came over to work with him and between the two, they shoveled three truck loads of mulch. They stopped long enough to go to the boys game and eat lunch at Culvers. While it is fresh, the yard looks good. I haven't planted much, but things are growing. Our grass is worse than it has ever been. Clyde has worked on it, but the brown patches are there and the seed hasn't sprouted like we hoped. The weeds sure have. Here are a few photos I took today of the backyard. I will try to keep track of the yard as the season comes and goes.

Super Saturday

Today was the first weekend day we've had for a long time that was warm and NO rain!!! Happy day. The boys had their third game at 11:30. They are on a young team, we lost a few "seasoned" players last year. There is one little girl that can play anywhere and Austin hits the ball to the outfield. Matthew has improved as well and plays infield. Today was the first day Austin fielded the ball on third and got two outs by tagging the base and one tagging the runner. He also hit in runners and made a double. So, he got the game ball. We lost (for the second time) but it was an exciting game. We needed a good first "at bat" but we didn't get the five run limit we needed. Matthew bats first, Austin (for some reason?) is down, down in the batting order. However, when he gets up, he bats in a run, so that is good. Matthew is hitting well too. We may not win many but I sure hope we do. Today, Austin said as we were leaving, "I wish we would have tied, or I wish we had won"!

Easter 2011

This made her smile at the camera....candy....and money in some of the eggs:)

Maggie is not into smiling for the camera, a phase she is going through.

Becky brought this big fruit bowl, and a dozen Caramanda cupcakes! I made green beans, brocolli casserole and a spinach salad.

When did they grow up?

GiGi (Clyde's mom in pink) and Delores in red, Martha's MIL watching from the deck.

I brought them Easter bags with some playthings, and Sarah's soon to be MIL brought them buckets filled with toys!

What is up with my internet connection? I just added a full blog of photos, comments and all and was reading it with Austin, when that message pops up "you have lost your internet connection, program closing down!" It makes me not want to try it again! Well, here goes....

Mets first game of 2011 Season

This may have been Matthew's first slide in homeplate. As far as I know anyway! Safe:)
Maggie has a couple of friends....first game, I hope they play well together this long season!

Matthew up first batter at their first game. He started shortstop.

Slugger Austin hit the ball hard and drove in a run to bring them within one point. He ran the bases and was the tying run to end the game, Mets 15 Red Sox 15.

Hello Saturday Morning Bagel...I have missed you!

When we get here early enough, we get the whole grain! Yeah, it's the simple things in life that make me happy! When the grandkids first arrive and I get hugs and kisses is the best! Sitting in my lounge chair beside the fishpond. Watching and listening to birds. Sitting beside Clyde eating popcorn at a dollar movie most Friday nights. Last but not least, sitting with him again on Saturday morning in the quiet atmosphere of Atlanta Bread Co. eating a simple bagel. There's nothing "special" about it...it's not HUGE in size....just very tasty and warm but mostly just a nice "ritual" that I love the most.

Spring Break & Birthday Pics

Yummy cake!
Love their Barcelona shirts!
Silly Austin!
Good Morning Sun....so good to see you.
Clyde got to play corn hole with a group from Michigan.
Maggie started calling Fred that "crazy man" until she knew his name. He was so good playing with her and Michelle held her hand a lot. Thanks guys...it takes us all.
Caroline Thomas & Maggie jumping waves!
Last week was pretty perfect. My blog didn't work well at the condo. I would post/journal/then try to save and the internet would be down:( So, here I will download a few pictures and some from my birthday. Maggie had the best time in Florida. She met Caroline Thomas (Leslie's daughter), who is 3 and soon to be 4. They were fast friends. Maggie played in the ocean, on the sand, in the pool and loved the playground. We ate sundaes, built a sandcastle and chose colors for a tie dye shirt. Maggie never asked us to stop one time for the potty (although we certainly would have!) She never asked for us to "buy" anything at a stop but we did buy her cheetoz once and she loved them. She asked a very few times "where are we going" or toward the end of the week "I miss momma and dada". She missed her brothers too, but she never cried for any length of time. She went to nap/night time bed easily (for the most part...we had a few episodes). Love her.

Florida Cont.

Go Cats, beat UCONN! Halftime, and Cats aren't hitting their shots! Come on boys, you can do it! Maggie is saying "hi mom & dad", I'm wearing my Big Blue Bow:) We bought her another bathing suit tonight and some bubbles for the beach. I put so much lotion on today, she looked like a white ghost.
Maggie having a little snack before we hit the beach.
This is a picture of Maggie's room. Half time, Cats down....boo....picked up internet in the room, amazing. Well, I won't brag until this downloads photos, and saves them. Which hasn't happened tonight.

Florida

This is the second time I've written this, and the words are NEVER the same the 2nd time around! Plus, who knows if it will be connected when I'm finished? However, I know somebody's mommy may be checking for pictures of Miss Maggie! Becky, she has been happy, no tears whatsoever, misses you and dada, but hasn't said too much. When she speaks to you, she always says "tell dada I love him too"...she is a daddy's girl as much as a mommy's! She loves the sand & beach. Today she spent time in the baby pool, and we took one walk on the beach. She is eating OK, a little of anything I give her. She likes snacks best. Tomorrow is float/build your own sundaes so I told her she could have one. It's about time for the UK game now (I started this 1 hr. ago!) so this will have to do. We miss you all....especially Austin and Matthew. She was so cute yesterday, talking about you (Becky) had three children and asked me why I only had two? One day won't she be surprised about Matthew! I would love to talk to the boys.....I know you are having a wonderful time. Take photos and know we are praying for you all.
