Halloween Eve

Today was a full one, with beautiful weather, good classes at "the Mill", seeing Jason move into his first home that he completely owns and Trick or Treating with the grandkids. It is 10:00 on Friday night, so I am pretty bushed. Becky, Jason and kids are in London for the weekend, so they dressed them up and came to visit Gigi and mamaw and papaw. I went there so they didn't have to come to three houses, while trying to get out of town. The kids looked terrific!

Today is a school day for kids and I'm not there!! Weird to be home on a Tuesday when school is in session. I keep thinking it's a Sat. Austin has strep throat and had a fever yesterday. Today he is doing well. He sounds stuffy and has a little trouble breathing because of it, but other than that he's OK. Becky took off yesterday and took him to the doctor. She has a new student teacher that actually started yesterday, so she needed to be at WCH. I have plenty of sick days, so using one was not a problem. He is such a good boy. He wanted to clean so he cleaned the glass table and the front door. Then I made him play dough and he played with it for a long while. I made a little video of him playing, but I'm not sure I can download it. I may try!

Today is a big BIG did I say BIG day for Jason Allen? He is closing at 4:00 on a house he bought in Lexington. For too long he has wanted to get back to town. However, living in the house he picked out in Winchester was hard to leave. He has loved the privacy of his big backyard and deck. Houses in Lex. cost more so he didn't get as big a bang for the buck. However, we think he chose well and now he will begin painting and getting ready to make the big move. All our blessings are with him as he gets back to Lexington...we love him dearly.

We had just the boys over after work on Monday. After they helped pap pick up clippings from the bushes, we all went inside to watch Nim's Island. I made popcorn, peanut butter sandwiches and juice for snack. Our plans were to take them to Qudoba's for supper after the movie. That partly worked out and partly didn't. After the movie, when Nim was dancing around, me and the boys busted out our dance moves...pap did his sitting on the sofa.

This old tree out front doesn't let them get too high, but they sure like to climb in it.

Fall Break is Great!

Fall break has been great! Yesterday, I met mom and Martha for lunch at the Chinese Rest. and shopped a short while at Tuesday Morning. Martha didn't have long and mom and I had to get back to play dad and Kent in Rook, or should I say "beat dad and Kent in Rook"! The game didn't take too long, so when I left, I went shopping (as I have been wanting to do). I need about everything! I am not a shopper, but when I get started, I enjoy it.

Today Clyde worked half day and came home to pack the car for an overnight trip to Cumberland Lake State Park. We came here in Feb. with Fred and Michelle and I liked it a lot. There is an indoor pool and the lodge has a nice room with a big fireplace to sit and read (or chat with total strangers, as CB does). We just had a nice meal in the restaurant and sat down by the fire then back here so I could blog and get on facebook!

I wanted a shot of the pool and this is as much of "me" in it that will be posted! I try to get photos of CB but he doesn't love having his taken and posted...wonder why??? Privacy???

He started chatting with a lady that has traveled around Colorado and all the states out west. They enjoyed reliving places they both liked.

Friends Picnic & Hayride on the Giles Farm
Tonight was a very fun night at David and Tricia's farm in Sadieville. About 30 of us arrived at the farm on a soggy field but other than the little rise in the creek, a perfect fall night. David and his brother, Doug (co-owner), have been working this 200+ acre farm mostly on Saturdays and we all enjoyed their labor. They have a cabin there, a shooting range for target practice, a large fire pit, and HUGE new barn where they set up our potluck and a very big tractor pulling us on a hayride.

When our CPA class was young and bringing up our children, we had an annual hayride and potluck in Cynthiana at David and Pam Henson's house. Her dad, Jimmy Lizer, was a wonderful man. We all loved him and he would always come down the road and drive us on a hayride. He was so nice and treated all the kids so well....mine thought a lot of him. Tonight we remembered him and the good times he helped us have and hope he was happy watching the fun from Heaven! Thanks for the memories....we carry on the good times.

37 Years and Still Happily Hitched!

This Wednesday, October 7th, Clyde and I will be married 37 years. I borrowed the title of this blog from Becky & Jason's ABF Class! I love they are in a class with other young Christian married couples, raising families and doing life together. I thank God many times for their LG (life group!) They are the nicest, most giving group of couples you have ever met.

We have been so blessed. Our CPA small group is more like family than friends. We pray together over all of our lifes "issues". Family illnesses, aging parents, job changes, and many other types of needs. Like many in our class, I am thankful for my best friend, my husband. Today we went to Shakertown and ate "Sunday Supper" there. We walked around the grounds, visited the gift shop and just enjoyed the afternoon. Now, I am writing this with Mags in the house with Nana and the boys outside with pap. This will have to be quick...no rereading or editing! I will post a few photos...we had a great meal. I had a big lettuce wedge, country ham, 2 vegetables, chess pie & iced tea. Yum! Clyde had pork chops and the rest the same. Well, it's time we went out to the camp fire as MJ is wanting to "type". Here are a few pix...hope they load fast!

End of Week

I haven't had a lot to blog about this week, so reading this has been boring! Visited with mom and dad on Wednesday and Friday and dad was doing fairly well. He even got out one day to ride to the cemetary to see his and mom's new headstone. Mom said he didn't get out of the car but he liked it and thought it was bigger than he thought it would be. He was enjoying a frozen banana milkshake from Sonic that Kim brought him this week. He thought it tasted like homemade icecream! He doesn't eat a lot, but he loves his sweets!

We went by Beckys on Wednesday while Kim was there visiting Matthew, Austin & Mags. She brought James and Britni to visit and they all had a great time. I know how much Matthew needs to remain close to his family on his daddys side and they love him as well. I brought this up to mention how fun Becky & Jason's basement is! A child's playground. They have butcher paper on a table with markers for their "creative" side. They have a room with bins for their toys, a kitchen set for Maggie (and the boys!), an air hockey table, on and on. Looks great and so fun for them.

Today we went to the UK game. I don't know if I'll be going again, but glad today was so beautiful. We met up with Martha & Jerry to eat our chicken boxes and loved the sun and being outside. However, the UK fans around us were something else. They were actually nice to everyone, but their language was not. I will stop there. After today, watching on TV will be doubly good!
