I have tried posting pictures now twice and they come up with all that "garbage" you sometimes get when working with a computer:( Ugh, I hate wasting time more than anything. I haven't made a post since early July, and this won't be much, but until I work out the picture thing, it will have to do.
This is a glorious morning. I put out a new hummingbird feeder, and before I came in to wash off my hands....there was a bird on the feeder! Who knew.....guess they just didn't like the old one. I have been fretting all summer over the seldom visits I have been having from my little friends.
The flowers are doing well. This is the year for flowering bushes like the Crepe Mrytle. The coneflowers and choleus have been my best bloomers (although Choleus is not known for it's spikey blooms). The tomato plants are NOT pretty, but the tomatoes are sure plentiful. The blackberries have produced a large amount, for the few vines I have. They have been big and sweet, although they are about gone now.
This has been a summer we won't forget. As Becky said in her blog, it was a day we knew would come, but dreaded all the same. However, how can you mourn (or dread?) the life and death of a saint? For sure and certain, daddy is in Heaven. I don't pray to him as there is one God, but I do "chat" with him most mornings. He was a strength greater than life, a man that led his family and church. Truly he will be missed by all and none more than mom & Kent. After living with one man for 64 years, you get quite accustomed to them being there. Please pray for them. Mom misses her sweetie and loved being daddy's baby. I was his baby girl.

Maggie's Door Wreath Cont.
Maggie's door wreath & more
This week we were home and it was good. On Monday night, we celebrated Clyde's birthday by our kids buying dinner out for all eight of us at Logans....thanks kids! At Father's Day, they both went in on a really nice queen air mattress, so that was suppose to be for both. On Wed., he and I went out to Malone's to eat stretching the birthday a little longer. Friday night found us at the movies & Cracker Barrel, Sat., morning, we love LOVE Atlanta Bread's breakfast sandwich (Asiago bagel, egg, bacon & cheese), then to the grocery for supplies to head to the horse park for overnight camping. We packed up for way too long for one night, had a great spot, with the best weather you can imagine to be outdoors. Fun for all (work too).
I kept the kiddos on Friday for a day off for Becky (well almost). She shopped til she dropped, haircut, home to get kids, then she and fam had a life group evening at Emily & Matts.
She made a cute wreath for MJ's door, I will post photos when we get back from dinner with the Waggoners, Giles & Michelle's parents at Michelle's house! Gotta Go.Saturday, July 3, 2010

Summer's passing!
Well, it's 4th of July weekend. I have had a wonderful, fun summer. I can say "thank you" to my good husband for most of that. He is very clear in his trying to make sure I enjoy myself on vacations (away from Lex.) and he likes to make sure we have fun when we are home. His planning ahead of time, makes for a very good trip. After our Michigan trip, Clyde had a couple of work weeks in Carrolton, General Butler for me. I took the boys for a few days before they left with the Keith's on vacation to Jekyll Island. Then we had a good weekend....ate at Eddie Montgomery's Steak Hs. on Sunday, then went back out of town to Butler for "me" time at the pool (and shopping nearby!) We ate at "Our Best" while there. My yard (garden?) isn't looking it's best, especially the flower baskets that have been ignored too much. Oh well, something has to give when I'm gone! I sure enjoyed my time away, so I won't complain too much.
